You are invited to attend “Do U.S. Adults Have the Skills Needed to Thrive in the 21st Century?: 2018 AIR PIAAC Research-to-Practice Conference” on December 6-7, 2018 in Arlington, VA. Using Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) data, expert researchers from the fields of adult education, economics, workforce development, sociology, psychology, and correctional education will share their findings on high-interest topics, including:
skills of the U.S. workforce in the global economy;
soft skills and earnings among college-educated adults;
social mobility in the United States;
skills and civic participation;
digital literacy among low-skilled adults; and
education and training among incarcerated populations.

Hotel and Travel Information
The conference will take place at the Key Bridge Marriott Hotel, 1401 Lee Highway, Arlington, VA, 22209. A block of rooms with a special group rate is reserved for this conference. Please note that this offer ends on November 12, 2018.

Parking Information: Please use the self-park in the Marriott Garage, just next to the hotel. After entering the garage, take a ticket. The hotel will leave the garage gate open from 5:15pm-6:15pm on Thursday, December 6th, and from 2:45pm-3:45pm on Friday, December 7th. If you need to leave before or after these times, please talk to the group contact on site for a chaser ticket. Chaser tickets look like regular tickets but are a different color. Please insert the ticket you took when you entered the garage and then insert your chaser ticket. The value of the chaser ticket will be deducted from the cost of parking.
